Compared to some of the other beaches in Nova Scotia I would give this a 3 to maybe a 3.5 at the most. It is quite picturesque when it comes to taking photos as there are larger waves crashing into the shore. It is considered to be one beach but it is really like there are really two separate beaches at this location. The first one is much smaller and nicer in my opinion as it did not have a lot of smaller stones on the beach. The sand is also quite nice, but on the larger beach ( or 2nd one you come to) there are quite a lot of smaller stones making it challenging to enjoy a walk in the sand with your bare feet, and of course the unavoidable seaweed which haunts most beaches. The sand is nice and it is a very long beach so worth while checking out, but not my favorite. It is no doubt Nova Scotia longest beach, but not the best I have seen.
Absolutely gorgeous spot. Perfect for rockhounding and beachcombing. Everyone visiting was lovely. Lots of cool dogs. Unbeatable views.
It’s the longest and my favorite beach in Nova Scotia. It’s sandy, and amazing. Great place for beach combing and hiking. Has a little woody area at the end where you get to see many birds. Best time for a hike would be during low tides.
My first visit to Martinique Beach and I have to say one of the nicest beaches I’ve been to. Plenty of parking if you get there by noon and enough space on the beach for everyone. I could spend every day here just walking the beach looking for sand dollars which I found plenty of. An amazing experience, I’ve been dreaming of it every night since we got back 3 weeks ago. Caught the beginning of Fiona on our last day so the waves were pretty rough and it looked like a totally different beach, the surfers were loving it. Can’t wait to go back 🙂
What a great little beach. Next time I will have to come earlier.
